Annual Events: Augusta

If you happen to be in Augusta on the last Sunday of June, don’t miss the famous American Legion Rodeo, billed as the “Wildest One-Day Show on Earth.” Folks come from all over the country to see what life must have been like in the good-old-days. In Augusta, however, cowboys and cowgirls are normal fare and a good portion of the residents still ride, rope and work with ranch stock.

So stop at Latigo and Lace, pick up a cappuccino and head for the fairgrounds. Or you might want to patronize the concession stand at the rodeo, order a burger and beer and help fund the local Legion Auxiliary—all for a good cause. And remember, the real socializing happens at the local watering holes during the “Wildest One-Day Show on Earth.” Always has, always will!
