Annual Events: Bigfork

For the past 30 years, the Bigfork Whitewater Festival has been a crowd pleaser. Spring run-off in late May brings recreationalists from afar to test their kayaking skills in the Slalom, Expert Slalom, Triathlon, Downriver, and Rodeo races on the famous Wild Mile. Save space for the other form of entertainment at local pubs & eateries throughout the weekend.

It's been close to 50 years since the Bigfork Summer Playhouse opened. Known by many as the "theatre by the bay", the playhouse brings talent from across the country to the finest live professional theatre in the Northwest. A past recipient of the Montana Governor's Award for the Arts, the Bigfork Summer Playhouse season runs from May through September with a full schedule during the height of the warm season. For more information check out their website.

August and the annual Festival of the Arts go hand-in-hand. Considered one of the more artistic communities in the area, downtown Bigfork swells with a fabulous array of wares from artisans. Musicians line the streets and the aroma from a variety of food vendors is ever-present. Entertainment, children's activities and over 125 arts and craft booths delight all who come to partake in the festivities. Find out more about this popular event.

The annual Magical Holiday Parade sets the tone for the season. It's more than just a community event; it's another opportunity to share good cheer and joy with neighbors and travelers. Participants and watchers alike enjoy a dazzling array of floats, marchers and smiling faces. Free horse drawn carriage rides add nostalgia to the enchanting mixture of artistry and fairytales.
